Problem
NetBackup backup/duplications fail status 83/84/2074. The NetBackup nbrmms log reports: 'No slots are available anymore'
Error
Non-verbose nbrmms log:
September 19 22:08:12 ERR [1191237952]: 25011: A bptm.exe request for agent Receive from 192.168.1.116:55183 for dsid 3 was denied for the following reason:

September 19 22:08:12 TRACE [1199630656]: taskAvail: 3 slots available
September 19 22:08:12 ERR [1199630656]: 25011: A bptm.exe request for agent Store from 192.168.1.116:55188 for dsid 3 was denied for the following reason:
No slots available anymore.Cause
NetBackup pdplugin does not close bptm and nbrmms connections properly, resulting in an exhaustion of ports open to PureDisk content router spoold process.
The bptm process is affected ONLY if the disk storage unit is configured for multiplexing and duplication is running.
Example, the bpstulist -L output will show Max MPX greater than 1:
Label: DISK_POOL_STU
Storage Unit Type: Disk
Storage Unit Subtype: DiskPool (6)
Host Connection: any.host.net
Concurrent Jobs: 40
On Demand Only: yes
Max MPX: 32
The nbrmms daemon is only affected when BackupRestoreRange is configured in the contentrouter.config in a PureDisk cluster.
When this occurs, backups/duplications begin failing with status 2074's, 83's and 84's. A netstat –anp | grep spoold | wc –l on the PureDisk content router will report 3000 or more open connections.
