How does a System Administrator install the CommandCentral Storage Managed Host V5.2 on an AIX 7.1 Node?

CommandCentral Storage (CCS) version 5.2 Managed Host (MH) installation fails on IBM AIX Operating System (OS) version 7.1

 

 

 


Error



The following errors prevent CCS MH from being installed successfully on Node1:
Cannot install Veritas CommandCentral(TM) Storage from Symantec on system Node1 as it is AIX version is 7.1 which is not supported with this release.
Veritas CommandCentral(TM) Storage from Symantec 5.2 is supported on versions 5.2 5.3 6.*.

A - Overview of the HotFix
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Always use this CPI (Common Product Installer) Patch when you want to install CommandCentral Storage 5.2 Managed Host on AIX 7.1

Supported operating systems include:

  - AIX 7.1


B - Deploying the Patch on AIX 7.1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Download the hotfix tarball from sort.symantec.com/patch/detail/5560 to a temporary location like /tmp

2. After extracting it,  the below two files will be available.
    - patch.pl
    - README  

3. Use the patch as below while installing CommandCentral Storage 5.2 Managed Host on AIX 7.1:

   ./installccsmh `hostname` -require /tmp/patch.pl
