Issue

When attempting to send a Whole Disk Recovery Token (WDRT) to Symantec Encryption Management Server (previously PGP Universal Server) while connected via SSH to a Mac OS X system and running pgpwde commands, the following error is displayed:

Error

A new Whole Disk Recovery Token (WDRT) could not be generated because the Administrative Server is not available Operation secure disk failed:

Error code -11969:not connected

Solution

It is not possible to send a WDRT to Symantec Encryption Management Server via the SSH session and is expected to fail.  Limited pgpwde commands are supported when initiated via SSH on Mac OS X.
