Which version of Symantec Enterprise Vault (tm) can this hotfix be applied?
This hotfix can only be applied to the following versions of Enterprise Vault for:
Enterprise Vault for Microsoft Exchange 9.0, 9.0.1, 9.0.2 & 9.0.3
Solution
What issue(s) does this hotfix resolve?
When Storage Expiry determines which items are eligible for expiry, it fails to exclude items on Legal Hold. This causes repeatedly unnecessary processing of the same items on legal hold for every expiry run. Storage Expiry will no longer attempt to process items which are on Legal Hold thereby greatly reducing the time taken to process eligible items.
How to Install this hotfix:
1. Stop the Enterprise Vault Storage service on each Enterprise Vault server running a Storage service.
2. Once all Storage services have stopped, run the SQL script "2568193.sql" against each Vault Store database.
3. Start all Enterprise Vault Storage services.
How to Uninstall this hotfix:
1. Stop the Enterprise Vault Storage service on each Enterprise Vault server running a Storage service.
2. Once all Storage services have stopped, run the SQL script "undo2568193.sql" against each Vault Store database.
3. Start all Enterprise Vault Storage services.
NOTE: If Enterprise Vault is subsequently upgraded to a version listed above, the hotfix will need to be re-applied.
