Issue



Some or all of the messages in public folders are not archiving as expected. When an archive attempt is executed against one or more public folders the event log will consecutively display error 8390, 3209 and 2956. This can occur during a scheduled or manual run of the Public Folder Archiving Task.

Solution



To correct this solution each affected folder will be removed and added again as a target. Please see below for a detailed description on how to complete this task:


1.     Stop the Public Folder task
2.     Remove the Public Folder target with issues
3.     Add the individual folders back to Public Folder Targets as a standard target
4.     Start Public Folder task
5.     Run the Public Folder task in report mode
6.     Stop the Public Folder task
7.     Delete the targets from the VAC
a.   This carries out the clean-up operation correctly
8.     Add the targets again as auto-enabled
9.     Start the Public Folder task
10.   Run the Public Folder task in report mode
