Cubes do not install after upgrade

Issue



After upgrading from ITMS v7.1 SP 1 to v7.1 SP2, Not all cubes install, showing three as unavailable, or available but not installed.


Error



 The three following cubes fail to install and either display as unavailable, or available but not installed.

  • Asset
  • Software Compliance
  • Software Puchases

Environment



ITMS v7.1 SP2 (post upgrade)


Cause



At this time, it appears this is caused by a missing function, fnAssetHierarchyTree, in the CMDB database


Solution



Run the attached script against the CMDB Database in question. This should resolve this issue..

Please be aware that the following messages may appear durring the execution of the script. This does not indicate that the script has failed to execute properly. A successful execution will contain "Query Executed Successfully" in the Bottom left portion of the SQL Server Management Studio window.

The important thing to note is if the Query executed successfully or not. If so, reset IIS and the Altiris Service on the Symantec Management Platform, the go back to IT Analytics > Cubes > Available. The three Asset cubes should now be available to install. If not, a repair of ITA, then the ITA packs appear to correct the issue.
