Problem
When backing up Exchange 2010, jobs fail with the following error:
Error
0xe0001212 - The volume that is used for the staging location must be a writable NTFS volume that is local to the Backup Exec server.
UMI Code : V-79-57344-4626
Environment
Backup Exec 2010 R3
Solution
Backup Exec 2010 and above uses the Temp location of the partition which has the largest space to perform the recovery. The above error can be observed when the partition runs out of space during the soft recovery process of GRT (Granular Restore Technology), or when the Temp folder is hidden.
