When you connect to the FileConnect website, you are given a choice of files to download. The following image displays example versions available for Release Update 1 (RU1) in English:

If you are migrating from a legacy antivirus product such as Symantec AntiVirus, or upgrading a previous version of Symantec Endpoint Protection, you should download the following files:

• Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1_RU1_Part1_Installation_EN.exe contains the equivalent of a full DVD. It contains installers for the following components:
  
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection client for Windows (32- and 64-bit)
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection client for Mac
  • Symantec AntiVirus for Linux
     
• Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1_RU1_Part2_Tools_and_Documents_EN.exe contains the following items:
  • Documents such as the Implementation Guide, the Getting Started Guide, and the Client Guide.
  • Tools for troubleshooting and integration, such as the Virtual Image Exception tool, or for integrating Symantec Endpoint Protection with Symantec Installation Manager / IT Analytics.

If you need only to download individual components for installation, such as the Windows client, these are also provided. They are smaller, and therefore faster to download when compared to the above DVD download.
