Problem
When doing a redirected restore using the Backup Exec Vmware agent the restore is unsuccessful with error V-79-57344-38270 e000957e - Unable to create a new virtual machine.
Error
V-79-57344-38270 e000957e - Unable to create a new virtual machine
Cause
Wrong line items in the vmware redirection tab in Backup Exec
Solution
This error message will come up if you are doing a redirect and you have not selected the new datastore to push the restore to. Double check each line in the VMware redirection tab for accuracy against the new destination server's configuration. To do this click on the Browse vCenter and ESX servers for destination and select the new destination. This will in turn update and refresh the fields below this tab with the new information including datastore.
