Technical Solution

After installing the Remote Agent on a Linux server, the Linux server does not show under Favorite resources. The Linux server may show up under User defined selections.

Linux agent Debug :

[nrds]                               - ConnectToServerEndPoint: dest=server.local, service=6101
[nrds]                               - ConnectToServerEndPoint: Failed Client Side SSL handshake.
[BESocket]                     - @@@@@@@MyCloseSocket called with sockfd = 1276(0x4fc) retval = 0
[ndmp\ndmpcomm]        - NrdsAdvertiserThread: connect to port=6101 failed
[ndmp\ndmpcomm]        - NrdsAdvertiserThread: Security is enabled!!!

The Remote Agent is failing to advertise to Media server with a "handshake" error.

To resolve the issue:

-Make sure Hotfix 161270 is installed.

- Stop all Backup Exec services.

- Browse to X:\Program files\Symantec\Backup Exec\Data.

- Rename the *.crt files to *.old

- Stop the Linux Agent:

   Service VRTSralus.init stop

    /etc/init.d/VRTSralus.init stop

- Browse to /opt/VRTSralus/data

- Rename the *.crt files to *.old

- Start the Linux Agent service and Backup Exec services

- At this point manually establish trust with the Linux server by adding the Linux server under User defined selections, then expanding it.

- Respond "Yes" to any prompts to establish trust.

- Once trust has been established successfully , you should be able to see the Linux server published to favorite Resources.
