Issue

Scripted Windows OS Install: does not accept special characters in the password in the unattended.txt file "@" or "%".

Error

Auto logon portion of sysprep will fail when using a custom answer from unattended.txt file

Environment

DS 7.1 SP1 MR1
Trying to install Windows XP SP 3 through scripted OS Install

Cause

Deployment Solution 7.1 SP 1 using "@" , "%" and other special characters in the answer file takes the password as wildcard in Scripted Windows OS Install. As a result auto logon portion of sysprep will fail.

Solution

We need to use a simple (A-Z, a-z, 0-9) password for  Scripted Windows OS Install in the unattended.txt file and then change it later through Group Policy.
