Backup Exec SQL service instance for Backup Exec fails to start.

The Backup Exec services will not start due to the Backup Exec SQL Express instance service "SQL Server (BKUPEXEC)" unable to start.
The following errors are displayed in the Application Event logs:

The problem was found to be related to an invalid or corrupt SQL SSL certificate on the media server.
Regenerate the SQL SSL Certificate.

Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.
1. Open the registry and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQLServer\SuperSocketNetLib\Certificate
2. If the Certificate Registry key is populated with a certificate number (Example: 8e473485c0e5d44df0c762ebb904439c67c59f6) clear the value.
NOTE: Export the registry key before clearing the contents of the Certificate Registry key.
3. Start the SQL Server (BKUPEXEC) service.
Unable to load user-specified certificate. The server will not accept a connection. You should verify that the certificate is correctly installed. See "Configuring Certificate for Use by SSL" in Books Online.
