External Data Integration job fails with message,  "Error occurred during DPS activity: There are no DPS with external data connector service role available for job execution."in Control Compliance Suite (CCS) 10.5

Solution

Verify if the server with the Data Processing Service (DPS) component has been assigned the 'External Data Connector Service' role. The Data Processing Service External Data Connector is responsible for hosting the external data integration framework and serves as a means to collect data from any external data system. You must enable the connector role of the Data Processing Server if you want to import external data into Control Compliance Suite. When you register a DPS External Data Connector, all the pre-integrated connectors such as ODBC, CSV, Web services, Symantec Data Loss Prevention, and Symantec CCS Vulnerability Manager get registered.  To deploy the Data Processing Server External Data Connector, you must enable the connector role of the Data Processing Server in your site.

To enable the Data Processing Server Connector

  1. Go to Settings > System Topology > Map View.
  2. Right-click the DPS and select Edit Settings.
  3. In the Edit Settings dialog box, select Data Processing Service > Basic.
  4. In the Role(s) section, check External Data Connector Service
  5. Synchronize the configuration.
