BUG REPORT: Whole Disk Encryption (WDE) BootGuard Customization additional text does not update when 80 characters are used.

Issue



If you have enabled “Add additional text to the WDE BootGuard login screen (Windows clients only):” option on the Disk Encryption tab of a consumer policy. If you change the additional text for WDE BootGuard Customization, the web interface will save up to 80 characters. However, when the PGP Desktop policy is updated and the client is rebooted, the custom text does not update.


Solution



Symantec Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers.  This issue is currently being considered by Symantec Corporation to be addressed in a forthcoming version or Maintenance Pack of the product.  Please be sure to refer back to this document periodically as any changes to the status of the issue will be reflected here.

 

Workaround:

Limit the additional text to 79 characters or less.
