Problem

Following the upgrade to Enterprise Vault 9.0.3 on the Enterprise Vault server, the log file generated by the Outlook Add-in will show that the server version is 10.00 rather than 9.0.3.

Error

The trace file generated by the Outlook Add-in will have the following in it:

25/01/2012 10:25:57.704[3936]: ~DesktopCommonConfig::LoadSettingsFromHiddenMessage: 0x0
25/01/2012 10:25:57.707[3936]:     Desktop Setting: SERVERVERSION
25/01/2012 10:25:57.708[3936]:     Value: 10.00
25/01/2012 10:25:57.709[3936]: ~DesktopCommonConfig::GetSetting: 0x0
25/01/2012 10:25:57.711[3936]: ~DesktopConfig::GetSetting: 0x0

25/01/2012 10:25:57.716[3936]: DesktopCommonConfig::LoadSettingsFromHiddenMessage: 0x0

And in the Desktop Information section:

25/01/2012 10:25:58.241[3936]:     SERVERVERSION = 10.00

Environment

Enterprise Vault 9.0.3 Server

Cause

A change was made to the Exchange Mailbox Archiving Agent which has resulted in an incorrect server version being added to the hidden message in each mailbox during a mailbox synchronisation.

Note: This may cause Virtual Vault to become read-only for clients running versions pre Enterprise Vault 9.0.1. See related documents for more details.

Solution

This issue has been addressed in the following release:

Enterprise Vault 9.0.4
