Problem
SCSP Agent conflicts with other kernel mode installations
Environment
Affected Operating System: AIX 5.3 / 6.1
Symantec Critical System Protection version: 5.2.5 and newer
Cause
Symantec Critical System Protection (SCSP) AIX agent comes with kernel modules that were not registered correctly with the ODM (Object Data Manager) classes. This caused the SCSP agent to conflict with other kernel module installations that occured after the SCSP agent deployment.
Solution
This issue has been resolved in SCSP Agent 5.2.8-HF1
www.symantec.com/docs/TECH180370
The fix registers the device file with the ODM classes, and prevents the conflict between SCSP and other software installed on the system.
