Problem
PGP Desktop includes the ability to modify the look of the PGP BootGuard login screen. You can also add in splash screen to appear before PGP BootGuard that will require you to press a key to continue on to the PGP BootGuard screen. Once the option for the splash screen is configured, if you attempt to delete or remove the image the option from the policy, you will no longer be able to remove the "Press any key to load BootGuard" behavior.
Environment
PGP Universal Server 3.2 managed environments with PGP Desktop 10.2 clients.
PGP Desktop standalone installations that have modified the startup options with the pgpwde.exe command line option.
Solution
This issue is resolved in the following releases:
- PGP Desktop 10.2 MP4 and above.
Once the splash screen option is removed, the default behavior is observed and will restore the original PGP BootGuard splash screen.
