While trying to increase the volume/filesystem using vxresize , the following message was seen:

VxVM vxassist ERROR V-5-1-10128  Operation requires transaction
VxVM vxresize ERROR V-5-1-4703 Problem running vxassist command for volume <volumename> , in diskgroup <DGname>

Error

VxVM vxassist ERROR V-5-1-10128  Operation requires transaction
VxVM vxresize ERROR V-5-1-4703 Problem running vxassist command for volume <volumename>

Environment

VRTSvxvm Veritas-5.0_MP1_RP4

Solaris 10

Solution

The same command was issued again 30 minutes later, and the command completed successfully. Had this not worked, an attempt would have been made to restart vxconfigd.
