Clicking the 'Upgrade' button  or downloading the installation .EXE's and installing them manually will only install the solution but will not install the other required dependencies. This will cause numerous issues, the most visible one with the following error on the NS console: Server Error in '/Altiris/ApplicationMetering' Application or Server Error in '/Altiris/ApplicationMngment' Application.

In Application Metering, the error happens when creating an application definition for a monitor policy. Addtionally, the following error will appear in the  NS logs.

They also may be related to failures to resolve or create Patch Management items.
