Issue



After upgrading the master server to NetBackup 7.5, backlevel Media Servers using DSSU fail with 190.  This occurs even after image migration is known as completed.

Environment



NetBackup 7.5 Master Server - All Platforms

NetBackup 7.1/7.0 or 6.5 Media Servers - All Platforms - utilizing DSSU


Solution



Workaround: 

A Hotfix is available to address this issue under http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH182934

To avoid this issue, please perform upgrade DSSU media servers to 7.5:

1) Disable DSSUs
2) Upgrade the NetBackup Master to 7.5
3) Upgrade the DSSU Media Servers to 7.5
4) Enable DSSUs and duplications will function normally

Customers who have experienced this issue can perform the following:

1) Disable the DSSUs
2) Upgrade the media server to NetBackup 7.5 or apply the hotfix to the master server
3) Expire copies 2-n of all problem DSSU images.
4) Enable the DSSUs.
