While launching CCS_Web portal, it presents an authentication box and asks for credentials.


Cause



This could be because Internet Explorer Security Settings are not enabled for :-

  • Automatic Logon with current username and password
  • Automatic Logon only in Intranet Zone
  • Windows Integrated Authentication
  • Active Scripting for JavaScript Execution
  • CCS_Web Portal URL is not added to the Local Intranet Zone.

Solution



To configure Internet Explorer for automatic logon, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Internet Options dialog box by choosing Internet Options either from Control Panel or from the Tools menu in Internet Explorer.
  2. In the Internet Options dialog box, on the Security tab, select Local intranet, and then click Custom Level.
  3. In the Security Settings dialog box, under Logon, select Automatic logon only in Intranet zone
  4. Note the four radio buttons:
    1. Anonymous logon
    2. Automatic logon only in Intranet zone
    3. Automatic logon with current user name and password
    4. Prompt for user name and password
  5. Select 'Automatic logon with current user name and password'
  6. and then click OK.
  7. In the Internet Options dialog box on the Security Settings tab with Local intranet still selected, click Sites.
  8. In the Local intranet dialog box, click Advanced.
  9. In the next dialog box (also titled Local intranet), type the URL of your CCS_Web site (for example, http://<Appserver>/CCS_Web) in the Add this Web site to the zone box, and then click Add.
  10. In the Local intranet dialog, box click OK.
  11. In the original Local intranet dialog box, click OK.
  12. In the Internet Options dialog box, click OK

How to enable JavaScript in Internet Explorer

  1. On web browser menu click 'Tools' menu and select 'Internet Options'.
  2. In the 'Internet Options' window select the 'Security' tab.
  3. On the 'Security' tab click on the 'Custom level' button.
  4. When the 'Security Settings - Intranet Zone' dialog window opens, look for the 'Scripting' section.
  5. In the 'Active Scripting' item select 'Enable'.
  6. When the 'Warning!' window pops out asking 'Are you sure you want to change the settings for this zone?' select 'Yes'.
  7. In the 'Internet Options' window click on the 'OK' button to close it.
  8. Click on the 'Refresh' button of the web browser to refresh the page.
