UMI: V-225-289
Solution
Select Roll back.
1. Review the Data Migration Report and examine the Backup Exec installation log (bkupinst2012.htm) for more details about the failed upgrade. These documents wil help determine why the upgrade failed.
Note: The installation log can be found in the following locations:
For Windows 2003: C:\allusersprofile\Application Data\Symantec\Backup Exec\Logs (Note: Application Data is hidden by default).
For Windows 2008 and later: C:\Program Data\Symantec\Backup Exev\Logs.
2. After reviewing the installation log and determining the cause of the failure, make the necessary changes, and then attempt the upgrade again.
OR
Select Continue
If a decision is made to Continue with the upgrade, an attempt can be made to manually upgrade the BEDB (Backup Exec database) to the new version using BEMIG.exe. During an upgrade, a backup of the BEDB is performed unless the user specifies not to. These database files can be found in the "DataBackup" folder in the Backup Exec install directory (DataBackupYYYY-MM-DD-HH-MM-SS).
Note: See the Related Article below for detailed instructions on how to use the BEmig.exe utility. Note that all steps from the document may not be necessary as the BEDB files will already be available in the "DataBackup" folder.
