| Description | Issue relating to Veritas Dynamic Multi-Pathing 6.0 for VMware ESX Issue: Installing the vCenter Plug-in components from the ISO image.
When the vCenter Plug-in components are installed from the ISO image, and then the user tries to uninstall and reinstall, the re-installation will fail because some of the files are left in the “program files (x86)\symantec\dmp” structure incorrectly.
Workaround: The user should manually remove the DMP directory and its contents before re-installation. Issue relating to VMware ESX limitation Issue: VMware ESX supports a maximum of 256 LUNs per server. With Veritas Dynamic Multi-Pathing (DMP) in a VMware environment, there may be unexpected results if the VMware limit is exceeded. The following VMware documents describe the VMware ESX maximums. http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere4/r41/vsp_41_config_max.pdf http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere5/r51/vsphere-51-configuration-maximums.pdf
Workaround: The user should adhere to the VMware ESX limits. Issue relating to Veritas Dynamic Multi-Pathing 6.0.1 for VMware ESX Issue: DMP for VMware 6.0.1 issues with ESX 5.0 Update 1 On VMware ESX systems running ESX 5.0 Update 1 releases prior to Build 768111, administrators may experience slow performance from the VMware CIM (Common Information Model). As a result of the CIM performance issue, DMP for VMware may display error messages similar to the following: Error: Please verify the following: For more information on this message, click V-5-8-5
To resolve the issue, apply Build 768111 or later for VMware ESX 5.0 Update 1, which is available from VMware. After installation, you must reboot the ESX server. To determine the version and build of ESX currently installed, select the ESX host within vCenter. The version and update level display in the upper left corner.
