Problem
With the Symantec Network Access Control (SNAC) product, how can the SNAC client re-authentication interval be modified?
Solution
The SNAC client re-authentication interval can be configured via the following registry key:
- [HKLM\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\NAC\SNAC]
SymNAP_Reauth (DWORD)
The valid Range is: 10 - 3600 seconds.
This configuration sets the interval for the client-initiated reauthentication. It may also be required to configure the reauthentication on the switch-side and in the Enforcer group in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) - please see articles HOWTO55563 and HOWTO74619 linked below.
The client-side debug.log entry each time authentication is triggered is:
[timestamp] <SNAC><PluginManager@nnn> trigerring SymNAPAgent reauthentication
