The SPC 2 appliance is running out of space or the Disk space usage is very high. Manually purging the data doesn't appear to clear the issue.
An additional issue that may be reported is significant daily downloads of data to the SPC 2 appliance.
A notification message is received in the Web Console that "space is about to expire"
SPC 188.8.131.525/184.108.40.20612 - MP1
During the upgrade to SPC 2.1 MP1 a task that downloads the DeepSight data feed becomes corrupted.
We are currently working on providing an automated solution for this issue. Until this solution is released a call to support will be required to reset the corrupt task.
A temporary fix for your space usage issue is to use the attached, Symantec Signed, PowerShell ( SPC_Clean_DeepSight_1Day.ZIP ) which will remove the extra data in the DeepSight UpdateDownloads folder. This file will remove all items older than or equal to one (1) day. Run the script again after a 24 hour wait to clean up any further data, repeating as needed to keep your space down.
Script Usage Procedure
1) Download Script and save to media that can be accessed by the SPC 2 appliance. (USB, CD, or saved as an ISO)
2) Mount media to SPC 2 Appliance
3) Logon to the SPC 2 Console (Not the Web Console) as SPC_Admin
4) Choose the "Install Protection Center Update" link
5) Browse to the CD, DVD, or USB device where the .zip file was stored.
6) Select the file, choosing OK until back to the RUN dialog.
7) Select RUN, wait a few moments, then return to the SPC Web Console to monitor the reported space usage.
It may take a few minutes for the drive usage statistics to update.
