Problem
An Oracle backup job fails with an error message if the Oracle database instance is selected for backup backup
Error
V-79-57344-37930 : Backup Exec did not find any resources to include in the backup. Check the backup selections for this job to ensure it includes resources that are available for backup.
Cause
An Oracle database instance is included in a backup job; however, database access is not enabled for Oracle operations in the Backup Exec Agent Utility.
Solution
1. On the computer on which the Agent for Windows is installed, on the taskbar, click Start > All Programs > Symantec Backup Exec > Backup Exec 2012 Backup Exec Agent Utility.
When the Backup Exec Agent Utility is running, an icon appears in the system tray. Double-click this icon to view the utility.
2. On the Database Access tab, check Enable the Backup Exec server to authenticate Oracle operations
3. Complete the appropriate options.
4. Click OK.
5. On the Backup Exec server, add the name of the Oracle server and the user name enabled for database access to the Backup Exec server's list of authentication credentials.
6. Click OK.
