Problem
When selecting a Media server, the local dedupe folder and ALL shared folders are selected.
Environment
Central Admin Server (CAS) environment with multiple Managed Backup Exec (MBE) servers sharing deduplication disk storage with the CAS.
In addition, multiple Direct Access Clients, configured to connect to the CAS.
Solution
Workaround 1:
- Limit the number of shared deduplication disk storage locations to only servers that require access to the shared folder.
- Limit the number of Direct Acces clients to access only 1 CAS or MBE, not both.
Workaround 2:
Disable client side deduplication on the deduplication disk storage location.
Workaround 3:
Use media server side deduplicaiton only.
