Problem

The following updates from bulletin MS09-004 failed to install on SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000) SP4 setups with and without cumulative updates.

1) MS09-004_SQL2000-KB960083-v8.00.2282-x86x64-ENU.exe
2) MS09-004_SQL2000-KB960082-v8.00.2282-x86x64-ENU.exe

MSDE 2000 SP4 and MSDE 2000 SP4 with Cumulative update

Cause

The IsInstalled and IsApplicable rules for updates MS09-004_SQL2000-KB960082-v8.00.2055-x86x64-XXX.exe and MS09-004_SQL2000-KB960083-v8.00.2282-x86x64-XXX.exe contained a specific language entry and didn't allow other languages to install or be seen as installed.

Solution

This has been addressed in PMImport 6.2.1337.1 and 7.0.1337.1 released in the April 4th week release.
