Problem



Backup Exec 2010 for SBS falls back to trial mode and backups fail due to lack of licenses.


Error



Final error: 0xe00094a1 - The evaluation period for Backup Exec or for an agent or option cannot be validated. You must enter a license key to continue.

The features shows as installed and licensed.


Solution



Restart all Backup Exec Services and verify that Backup Exec does not show the trial mode message.

As a permanent solution, set the Backup Exec services to delayed start.
