Content Filtering Policy does not detect credit card numbers when digit groups are separated with dots, instead of spaces or hyphens

Problem
When dots are used as separator characters within credit card numbers, a Content Filtering Policy to detect credit cards does not trigger.
Cause
This behavior is by design.
Solution
