Problem
In Backup Exec 2012, One-time backup job for Exchange does not flush the transaction logs.
Cause
By design a one-time backup job of Exchange database in Backup Exec 2012 is a Copy backup.
Job log for the one-time backup of Exchange will show "Backup Method: Copy - Databases & Logs"
A one-time backup is a run once job without any recurring instances. One-time backup is to create a baseline for a server before it can be upgraded or before any new softwares can be installed. After Backup Exec finishes running a one-time backup, it deletes the job rather than saving it along with the recurring jobs.
Solution
To flush the transaction logs for an Exchange backup, a scheduled backup job needs to be created.
