Problem
VMware SAN (Storage Area Network) backups fail with the following error while trying to backup RAW Disk Mappings setup in Virtual Compatibility Mode:
Error
Final error: 0x200095b9 - The virtual machine has virtual RDM disks. The virtual RDM disks that are configured in an independent-persistent mode or independent-nonpersistent mode will not be backed up.

Cause
This error will occur if the RDM Volume is not setup correctly for the SAN transport method backups.
Solution
Configure volume on the Media Server per www.symantec.com/docs/TECH155831 or use the NBD transport mode.
