Problem



After applying Backup Exec 2010 R3 SP2 the Redirect restore of NDMP data fails with the error 0xe000130c if pre-SP2 NDMP backups sets were selected for restore.

This issue also occurs when attempting to restore Backup Exec 2010 R3 pre-SP2 NDMP backup sets in Backup Exec 2012.

NDMP Log in the restore job log shows:

NDMP Log Message: RESTORE: Tape read error.
NDMP Log Message: RESTORE: RESTORE IS ABORTED
NDMP Data Halted: Connect Error
NDMP Log Message: Connection or IO Error.
NDMP Mover Halted: Internal Error
NDMP Log Message: MoveletInput: Internal Error

Solution



WORKAROUND:

Uninstall SP2 for BE 2010 R3 and restore a pre SP2 NDMP backup set data and apply SP2 back again.

Backup Exec 2012 customers please contact Symantec Technical Support.

 

This issue is currently under investigation by Symantec Corporation. Pending the outcome of the investigation, this issue may be resolved by way of a patch or hotfix in current or future revisions of the software.
