Problem
After upgrading Backup Exec to BE 2012, some Backup-To-Disk (B2D) folders located on NAS devices may not show up in the database.
Attempts to re-add the folder generate the error below.
Error
Unable to create the backup-to-disk folder
Cannot create a file when that file already exists
Solution
Workaround:
- Create a new backup-to-disk folder
- Move the existing media into the new B2D folder
- Perform an inventory and catalog operation on the new B2D folder
Customer experiencing further issues, or trouble with the workaround, are encouraged to contact Symantec Backup Exec Technical Support.
