Error

e0008113 - Physical volume library robot not found

UMI Code: V-79-57344-33043

Cause

This issue may occur if the the medium changer and/or storage controllers are not detected in the Windows Device Manager.

Solution

The medium changer and storage controllers should be listed in the Windows Device Manager and should not show up with any error/warning signs.

Perform the following to resolve this issue:

  1. Go to Windows Device Manager
  2. Confirm that the medium changer and storage controllers are detected without any error/warning signs.

  3. In case errors/warnings are observed OR any of the required devices are not listed in Device Manager try one of the following:

    1. Re-scan the hardware by right-clicking on a device and select "Scan for hardware changes" (or Device re-scan)
    2. Check and confirm if the devices show up in the list without any error/warning signs.

      OR

    3. Power cycle the media server and robotic library. (Turn-off the Library or Tape drive, Shut-down the Media Server, then first turn-on the Library or Tape drive and then start the Media server)
    4. Check and confirm if the devices show up in the list without any error/warning signs.

In case of standalone tape drives, it will not show the Medium Changer listed in the Device Manager, but just Tape Drive(s) under the Tape drives heading. The above steps will apply for Standalone tape drive also.

Note: If the hardware cannot be detected after following the above steps, please get in touch with the hardware vendor to get the devices detected.
