Trying to create or run a host in pcAnywhere and get errors that this should be run as an administrator or that the User Account Controls (UAC) should be lowered
Possible errors: "You do not have the necessary rights to run a pcAnywhere host as a service" "pcAnywhere should be run as an administrator"
Windows 7 permissions are blocking pcAnywhere from creating/using the needed files and processes
There are multiple possible resolutions:
- Right click on the pcAnywhere icon and "Run as Administrator"
- Allow full permissions to the folder C:\ProgramData\Symantec\pcAnywhere\Hosts
- Lower the UAC: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc709691%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
- The user will need to be give rights to start services or the host cannot be run as a service.
