BUG REPORT: A failed authentication attempt at BootGuard will disable external USB keyboards

Problem
When attempting to authenticate with PGP BootGuard, failing to authenticate can disable the USB keyboard.
Environment
The following combinations of keyboard models and systems have been identified as affected:
Dell Latitude E6520 and Dell YU-U0003-Del5 keyboard
Dell Optiplex 780DT and unidentified Logitech keyboard
Dell Optiplex 760 and Dell SK-8135 keyboard
Dell Optiplex 740/745/755
HP 8000e and unidentified Dell keyboard
HP 8000 Elite and HID Omnikey 5321v2 keyboard
HP Elitebook 8530W with docking station HSTnn-i11x
HP Compaq 6200 Pro Small Form Factor PC with KU-0316 HP keyboard
HP Compaq LA2405wg
HP ProBook 6460B
Lenovo Thinkpad T420 and T500 and Lenovo KUF0452 keyboard
Lenovo Thinkpad T420 and W520 and Lenovo SK-8815 keyboard
Lenovo ThinkStation E20 and Lenovo SK-8815 keyboard
Additional combinations of system and keyboard not listed here may be affected.
Solution
This issue is fixed in the following release:
- PGP Desktop 10.2.1 MP3 or later
Swapping the affected keyboard with another model can provide a workaround. Additionally, the built-in keyboard on laptops is unaffected and can still be used.
