The 16-bit decryption engine in the pre-boot environment adds significant delay to the resume time from hibernation on computers with high memory capacities.
After using PGP Whole Disk Encryption (PGP WDE) to encrypt a disk, the resume from hibernation times increase. In severe cases several minutes of delay can be added. The total added delay is determined by how long resume took before the disk was encrypted with PGP WDE and the amount of system memory available.
