When running both Backup Exec and Carbonite on the same system, during a backup with Backup Exec the server will become unresponsive and crash.
Windows Small Business Server 2003 Std.
Backup Exec 2012
- Disabling Carbonite stops it completely and releases all associated system resources, such as the Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
- You may want to disable Carbonite if you need to use another program that requires the Volume Shadow Copy Service, such as a disk defragmenter, or if you are traveling with your computer for an extended period of time without access to the Internet.
Disabling Carbonite causes the program to stop using system resources so that the computer is free to use them for other programs. You can disable Carbonite through the Carbonite InfoCenter.
