  1. Download and save the zip file to a machine with a zip file extraction utility and that can access both the DA server and the SQL Server hosting the Vault Store database(s).
  2. Extract the files from the zip file into a folder that is to contain the hotfix files (i.e., 'C:\DAHotfixFiles').
    1. The files extracted will be named:
      1. EVContentManagementAPI.dll.ET2697016
      2. VaultStore_2697016.sql.ET2697016
      3. Undo_VaultStore_2697016.sql.ET2697016

      1. EVContentManagementAPI.dll
      2. VaultStore_2697016.sql

      4. Hotfix_Details_Etrack_2697016.txt
  4. Copy the file 'EVContentManagementAPI.dll' to the DA server.  This file will be placed into the Enterprise Vault installation folder in an installation step below.
  5. Copy the files 'VaultStore_2697016.sql' and Undo_VaultStore_2697016.sql' to the SQL Server(s) hosting the Vault Store database(s).

Installation Instructions
=======================================================================
*** On all workstations that have the Discovery Accelerator (DA) Client installed ***
1. Close all instances of the DA Client.

*** On each Enterprise Vault Server ***
2. Stop all Enterprise Vault services.

*** On each SQL Server hosting one or more Vault Store database ***
3. Take a backup of each Vault Store database.
4. Run the sql file "VaultStore_2697016.sql" against each Vault Store database.

*** On each Enterprise Vault Server ***
5. Restart the Enterprise Vault services.

*** On each Discovery Accelerator Server ***
6. Stop Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager service (EVAMS).
7. Once service is stopped, rename or take a backup copy of the file named "EVContentManagementAPI.dll", located in the Enterprise Vault installation folder (default location for x86 Windows is "C:\Program Files\Enterprise Vault" and for x64 Windows is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault").  For example, the file can be renamed to "EVContentManagementAPI.dll.PreET2697016" to provide for a quick uninstall of the hotfix file.
8. Copy the updated file "EVContentManagementAPI.dll", packaged in this hotfix, to the Enterprise Vault installation folder, replacing the original.
9. Start EVAMS.

*** On all workstations that have the DA Client installed **
10. Open the DA Client as appropriate.

Uninstallation Instructions
=======================================================================

*NOTE* - This hotfix may only be uninstalled from a Vault Store database if the maximum HoldIdentity within the HoldSaveset table has not exceeded 2,147,483,647.

3. Run Undo_VaultStore_2697016.sql against all the Vault Store databases that had the fix applied and need to have the fix removed.

*** On each Enterprise Vault Server ***
4. Restart the Enterprise Vault services.

*** On each Discovery Accelerator Server ***
5. Stop Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager service (EVAMS).
6. Once service is stopped, take the backed up copy of the file named "EVContentManagementAPI.dll" and replace the hotfixed files, located in the Enterprise Vault installation folder (default location for x86 Windows is "C:\Program Files\Enterprise Vault" and for x64 Windows is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault").  For example, if the original file was renamed to "EVContentManagementAPI.dll.PreET2697016" to provide for a quick uninstall of the hotfix file, delete the hotfix file and rename "EVContentManagementAPI.dll.PreET2697016" back to "EVContentManagementAPI.dll".
7. Start EVAMS.

*** On all workstations that have the DA Client installed **
8. Open the DA Client as appropriate.

** If the Vault Store database has exceeded the maximum HoldIdentity value of 2,147,483,647 in the HoldSavest table, the only removal process available is to restore all of the Enterprise Vault databases from the backup files obtained prior to installing this hotfix.  This can result in the need to run the EVSVR utility, under EV Support guidance, to update the databases with items archived after the hotfix installation.  This would include the updating or rebuilding of indexes for archives containing those archived items.
