Problem
Upon breaking the connectivity, all jobs immediately begin failing with status 2106 "Disk volume is down".
When connectivity is restored, all jobs still fail until the remote media server credentials are removed from each local storage server device and then re-added.
Environment
two Storage servers which are DataDomain devices
Datadom01-a (local)
Datadom02-a (local)
1 master server and 7 media servers which are selected in the credentials section for each storage server.
NBMASTER01 (local 7.5.0.1)
NBMEDIA001 (local 7.5.0.1)
NBMEDIA002 (local 7.5.0.1)
NBMEDIA003 (local 7.5.0.1)
Solution
Run the C:\Program Files\veritas\netbackup\bin\nbdevquery -listdp -stype DataDomain -U command and pipe the output to a file, then we tried to re-produce the problem so we could run the command again and see how the storage unit was brought down.
Upon running the command, it did show that the storage was "Down"
The behavior was corrected by reauthorizing each media server to the storage server.
