Issue

When a managed PGP Desktop client searches for a user that was imported to the External Users list on PGP Universal server, no results are returned for the key.

Environment

This behavior has been reported on these versions of PGP Desktop:

10.2.1
10.2.0 MP5

Cause

This was working as designed in previous builds of the encryption software.

Solution

Now in Symantec Encryption Management Server (SEMS) 3.3.0 MP1 and Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.3.0 MP1 (Build 9060), it is now possible to search the External Users list of SEMS via the managed Symantec Encryption Desktop.

As long as the Group Permission on the Everyone group has been set to "Can read public key of all managed keys", it will then be possible to search the External User list and will return keys.
