You need to install a Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client on a Windows Azure Virtual Machine Role.
Windows Azure VM Role; Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.x
Windows Azure VM Roles are usually virtualized Windows 2008 R2 Datacenter edition.
It is a best practice to use Symantec Endpoint Protection's Network Threat Protection (NTP) and Intusion Prevention (IPS) components. On Windows Azure Virtual Machine Role computers, however, install Virus and Spyware Protection only. The Windows Azure platform already features a firewall that can be managed from the Azure management portal.
You should also ensure that LiveUpdate does not download content while other CPU or disk-intensive activities are taking place.
