Problem

After renaming a person document the renamed user is no longer able to access archived items.

For e.g. User A has been renamed to User B.

This rename of the person document creates a situation where the user does not have sufficient privileges inherited from mail file.

Error

Pop up window:  User CN=Domino User/O=lotusdomino cannot open database EVDG!!EV\EV_0000002f.nsf

EVDG Domino Console shows :

ATTEMPT TO ACCESS DATABASE EV\EV_0000002f.nsf by Domino User/Lotusdomino was Denied

A dtrace of nserver will show the following:

Solution

1 Open Domino Admin Console and connect to Enterprise Vault Domino Gateway (EVDG) server.

2. Press Ctrl + Shift + names.nsf and double click on names.nsf database.

4. Click on $VIMpeople and press Ctrl + Shift + F9 (this will update the names.nsf database)

If still the names.nsf is not updated then follow the alternate method to update the names.nsf

4. From the EVDG domino console, run the following command

Load updall names.nsf -T ($VIMPeople)

If there is a delay in replicating the Names.nsf to the EVDG then replication can be forced as follows:

Pull Dominoservername names.nsf

Note: Dominoservername should be the name of your Domino Server.
