Issue

If the actual execution time for a backup job exceeds 24 hours, Symantec Backup Exec 2012 and Symantec Backup Exec Management Plug-in 1.1 for Kaseya both displays the elapsed time in different time format.

Cause

Symantec Backup Exec Management Plug-in 1.1 for Kaseya displays the job histories in a tabular format for all the configured agent machines. The Job History grid has a column called “Elapsed Time” which displays the actual execution time for a backup job.

Solution

If the actual execution time for the backup job exceeds 24 hours, then there is a slight difference in the display format of the elapsed time . Symantec Backup Exec Management Plug-in for Kaseya will differentiate Days with a period (“.”) as the separator, whereas Backup Exec 2012 will differentiate Days with a colon (“:”) as a separator.

For example, if the elapsed time for a backup job is 2 days, 4 hours, and 45 minutes, then:

  • Symantec Backup Exec 2012 will display the elapsed time as 2:4:5:00.
  • Symantec Backup Exec Management Plug-in 1.1 for Kaseya will display the elapsed time as 2.4:45:00.
