Issue

The replications of several windows client shadow copy component data selections worked successfully for a long period of time and then started and continued to fail with the errors below.

Environment

PureDisk 6.6.1.2 SPA replicating to multi-node spa

Cause

There was not a data removal policy for the Shadow Copy Component Dataselections

Solution

Found no indication of corrupted DO's or fingerprints using this technote.

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH168555

Ran MB Garbage collection with Extensive Cleanup enabled.

Attempted to configure SP Consistency check but couldn't select the Shadow Copy Component dataselection.

Ran health checker on the source SPA and that discovered the source of the problem.

Download the files that comprise the PureDisk Health Checker.
http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO59005

Followed the extract and deploy instructions from the technote, then run the tool on both the source and destination SPA involved in the Agent Shadow Copy Component dataselection replication failures. I am assuming that the destination is also an All in One Puredisk install. But if it is not, then you will need to use the –m in a multi node PD environment.

Example syntax:
pd_spa:~ # /opt/pdag/bin/php /opt/pdconfigure/scripts/support/health_checker.php-verbose –r -o /tmp/healthcheck.out

If the destination SPA is a multi node environment:
pd_spa:~ # /opt/pdag/bin/php /opt/pdconfigure/scripts/support/health_checker.php-verbose –r -o /tmp/healthcheck.out

That found issues with no data removal policy for the problem Agent Shadow Copy component dataselection.

Created a data removal policy for the problem Agent Shadow Copy Component dataselection, ran it for all failing agents, and that let the replications of those data selections complete successfully.
