Exchange 2010 DAG GRT Database backup jobs failing with the below error:


Error



"0xe00003c3 - The specified Logon Account credentials do not have the necessary permissions to read Exchange data from Active Directory that are needed to complete the job."

Backup- \\SERVER\Microsoft Information Store\Public Folder Database V-79-57344-963 - The specified Logon Account credentials do not have the necessary permissions to read Exchange data from Active Directory that are needed to complete the job. Review the credentials to ensure that it has the Exchange Organization Administrator role and local administrator rights.


 


Environment



Exchange 2010 (DAG)

Windows 2008 R2


Cause



The Backup Exec Service account needs to be a System Logon Account along with Exchange 2010 GRT credentials requirements.


Solution



Ensure that Backup Exec Service account as all necessary permissions and is set as the System Logon Account.
