Error: "Installation activity Symantec Help failed to execute" while re-installing the Control Compliance Suite 11.0 after an unsuccessful attempt on WIndows Server 2008
IIS 7 provides a new command-line tool, Appcmd.exe, to configure and query objects on your Web server. Appcmd.exe resides in the %windir%\system32\inetsrv directory, which is available only to the Administrator account or to users who are members of the Administrators group on the computer. To remove the SymHelp virtual Directory, run the following command:
appcmd delete vdir /vdir.name: "Default Web Site" / Symhelp
- The only virtual directory that you cannot remove from an application is its root virtual directory.
- Removing a virtual directory in IIS does not delete the physical content from the Windows file system; it removes the relationship of the content as a virtual directory under an application.
