Support for Symantec Endpoint Protection for Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion)

Problem
On Wednesday, July 25th, 2012, Apple released OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion), the next version of the Mac operating system. Is this release supported by Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) for 11.x and 12.x?
Solution
Support for OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) was introduced in Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 Release Update 2. The SEP client can now be installed on Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and Mac OS X case-sensitive formatted volumes.
Earlier releases of SEP 12.1 and SEP 11 are not supported on Mountain Lion.
