Problem
When performing a Test Query using the VMware Intelligent Policy, the number of VMs (virtual machines) returned is incorrect. For example, the test query may return only one VM when many more would be expected to be returned.
Environment
The issue has been seen on the following NetBackup versions:
- NetBackup 7.5 through 7.5.0.3
Cause
There is a receive buffer issue in nbsl that causes test query results to be incorrect. This does not affect the discovery job during the backup.
Solution
The formal resolution for this issue (Etrack 2777863) is included in the following release:
- NetBackup 7.5 Maintenance Release 4 (7.5.0.4)
NetBackup 7.5.0.4 is now available for download - please access the Related Article below for more information.
